About Our OfficeWelcome to Our Practice We are here to serve you. We will warmly and sincerely welcome you each time your enter or call our office. Since most of our patients come to us by referrals from their family and friends, we strive to live up to our reputation of competence and caring. Your First Visit Your first visit to our practice provides an opportunity for you to meet Dr. Balas and to discuss your concerns and goals for dental care. At that first appointment we ask that you complete the necessary patient forms. Whenever possible we will send those forms to you to complete at your convenience and bring them to your first visit. These forms will provide us the necessary medical and dental history information that will aid Dr Balas in helping you to select the safest and most effective treatment of care. We ask that you include a list of any medications you are currently taking, as well as the name of your physician. A Complete and Comprehensive Examination Dr Balas will perform a comprehensive examination of your teeth and mouth. Oral cancer screening will also be done during the examination, as well as a complete charting of your teeth. At that time any necessary x-rays will be taken and results will be discussed with you. Regular Check up Appointments Patients are encouraged to see the hygienist on a regular basis. Most patients see the hygienist every 6 months. Based on personal need, the doctor and hygienist may encourage a patient to come in more often for these maintenance appointments. We reserve a minimum of 1 hour for adult patients and 30 minutes for children. Payment and Financial Options Dr Balas will only recommend treatment that is necessary for patients. We believe we have the responsibility to provide the best professional care, skill and judgment in planning and delivering your dental treatment. All fees will be discussed with patients prior to treatment. We believe cost should not be an obstacle to you receiving optimal dental care. Financial options are available to suit different budgets. Arrangements should be made prior to treatment. For your convenience, we accept payment by VISA, MASTERCARD, DISCOVER and AMERICAN EXPRESS. Insurance Benefits It is our pleasure to file your insurance claim. We are pleased to accept assignment of benefits and will help you to determine coverage available. Claims are filed electronically and most benefits are paid within 3 weeks. Professional care is provided to you, our patient, and not to an insurance carrier. Thus, the insurance carrier is responsible to the patient and patients are responsible to the dentist. We make every effort to assist you in maximizing your dental insurance benefits. Office Hours With early morning and evening appointments we strive to adapt to our patient’s scheduling needs. Patients are seen by appointment on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and some Saturdays.
